Transcription: Molly Harrison in her book The Kitchen in History describes one sixteenth century kitchen and the nearby rooms. In the records of Hampton Court Palace there is mention of the great kitchen, the privy kitchen, and also the cellar, larder, pantry, buttery, scullery, ure, saucery, chaundry, spicery, paltry, victualling house, and many other offices. But of course Hampton Court was never a typical household.
